DMI
The Data Management Institute, established in 2002, is a membership organization for IT and business professionals who create, manage and protect electronic data assets. The goal of DMI is to increase the awareness of the primacy of data management in strategies intended to contain costs, comply with regulatory and legal requirements, ensure business continuity or to green IT operations. DMI offers a web based community at www.datainstitute.org and has spawned several initiatives, including ArchiveMgt.org and the GreenDataProject.org. The organization also offers training programs covering data management, data protection, and data security techniques. Over 7000 trainees have been certified worldwide after participating in DMI training programs, which will shortly be made available as video based instruction on the web. Membership is free.
